Can Meftal Syrup Be Given For Fever Within One Hour Of Giving Calpol?

Dear Sir
My son has got fever for the past three days, when we consulted the doctor, he said it is viral fever and asked to give calpol and zytec. Since the fever is beyond 102degree, i have given calpol but the temperature in not coming down, shall i give meftal now within 1 and half hour of calpol medication ?please advise

Yes you can give meftal p when fever rises above 102F.
Do tepid sponging.
Give plenty of fluids.
In case fever persist get him re evaluated by doctor.
