Can Metamucil Be Taken To Calm IBS Symptoms Post Colonoscopy?

I just had a colonoscopy this morning and ate breakfast at the hospital afterwards: cream of wheat, sausage, egg and milk. Since i have been home I have had 3 bowel movements: thin, brown, IBS type, with cramping. Since I had 3 polyps removed, will it be ok to start taking Metamucil to calm the IBS symptoms
