Can Naproxen Be Harmful If Consumed With Coffee Or Wine?
I have been prescribed Naproxen for ostheo-arthritis in my knee. I have developed h b pressure since being on this medication, which may or may not be related. Also I have had this prescription renewed over a number of years. I do not take it constantly but like to have a small supply on hand because I do have pain. Also, is a glass of wine permitted ( not with the pill) but say a few hours later during dinner, same question about coffee??????
I must say say that Naproxen does not cause any interaction when taken with alcohol or coffee, so its perfectly safe to take it while using small amounts of them. On the other side, Naproxen does not cause high blood pressure but elevates it by lowering the effects of certain medicines used to treat high blood pressure. So my advise would be, use it only when needed, take it after food, and in the lowest dose that works for you.
Hope this helps. Let me know is you have other questions. Take care Dr. Papaqako
