Can Opiates For Knee Pain Cause Urge To Urinate?

Hi, I have been taking 10mg hydrocodone for past month and I usually take 4 pills (40mg) to numb knee pain. I would like to know if opiates can cause a feeling of having the urge to urinate often, but only few drops of urine come out. Feeling as u still have to go. Is this caused by this medication? Thanks

Hello
Welcome here.

Opiates can cause difficulty in passing urine and constipation due to their anticholinergic effects.

You must visit your doctor. A change in dose is required.

Also, Ultrasound abdomen will help to rule a possible abdominal pathology.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
