Thank you for visiting HCM. I have been reading about the side-effects of oxyelite and they concern me.

People are reporting gall stones, blood clots, seizures, kidney and liver failure, strokes. The chemical goes by many names DmBA, DMAA, and hides under "geranium" oil. This supplement opposes the action of your warfarin -your doctor KNEW you were taking this supplement?

The fact is, you are given warfarin to prevent blood clots. Oxyelite PROMOTES BLOOD CLOTS. So, the doctor's answer to your query regarding whether oxyelite could contribute to your low blood pressure and the dizziness is definitely yes considering the other two drugs you are on as well.

Metoprolol is given to treat high heart rates, well oxyelite has chemicals in it that stimulate heart rate. You put yourself on a supplement that interacted with both of your drugs.

The clear and difinitive answer, in my opinion, is that NO, you should not take this supplement. It is NOT safe. I am sorry. Try a lifestyle intervention program. Visit a dietitian and work on a weight loss plan and strategies that are safe and effective to use with your medications.

If you write back with your location and it is the US or India, I can look for a referral for you or you can come back and see me again through the specialist portal. Good luck in meeting your weight loss goals! Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
