Can Permethrin Cause Rough, Darkened, And Cracked Glans Skin Along With A Narrowed Urethral Meatus?

I used permthrin on my whole body, after this my glans skin become rough,blacky and cracks also urethral meatus a little bit narrow. After some days skin & urination a little bit normal but urination Isn t becoming proper as well as before . Urine stream in length is ok, but not widen completely.

Hello,

Stop using permethrin on the affected area immediately. Permethrin is not to be used on sensitive areas like the glans penis or urethral opening (meatus). Applying Permethrin to these sensitive areas can cause skin reactions on the glans, irritation, burning and dryness. On sensitive skin it can also cause cracking or peeling and also discoloration (darkened skin).

Repeated inflammation, irritation, or chemical injury to the meatus from inappropriate topical use may cause scarring or narrowing of the meatus over time. You are advised to get clinically examined by a urologist; if needed, he may refer you to a dermatologist. Get a skin swab or biopsy done at the earliest.

The treating doctor will rule out or detect lichen sclerosus or contact dermatitis (from allergy or irritation). Get tested for STIs to be on the safer side. Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis done. Do not apply any ointment without the treating urologist's prescription.
