Can Plan-B Be Taken While On Low-Ogestrel?

Hello, I had unprotected sex about 24 hours ago. I m currently on birth control (Low-Ogestrel) which I take regularly but I picked up a pack of Plan B/Emergency Contraceptives anyway. I ve heard differing accounts about whether or not to take Plan B while on birth control... will it have any benefit or is the birth control I m taking enough?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As you are on birth control (Low-Ogestrel), you need not to take a Plan B/Emergency Contraceptive pill. A emergency pill is indicated in case of emergency to prevent pregnancy. It has no use with regular birth control pill. Also emergency pill has more side effects than regular birth control pills.
Just take the regular birth control pills daily at same time of day. They are more effective ( about 99%) & are enough to prevent pregnancy.

Don't worry you would be fine
For more queries consult a gynaecologist
Hope this information helps
