Hi

If you begin taking Low-Ogestrel on the first day of your period, it will begin working on that day. If you begin taking Low-Ogestrel on the Sunday after your period starts, you will need to use backup birth control (condom, female condom, sponge, diaphragm) for the next seven days afterwards. So the pills you have taken are working right now and are highly effective.

Pregnancy tests can be taken if required and are accurate when done 10 days after missing the period or at least one to two weeks after you had sex.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
