Can Pristiq And Methylphenidate Cause Rise In The Blood Pressure?
I am 71; in apparently excellent health, take my pressure regularly b/c I have been take Pristique and methylphenidate which I am cautioned can raise pressure. I was given atenolol, 25 mg. At times I take an extra 25 mg pill when it seems the pressure is higher than usual [which prompted me to send this email]. Because my systolic pressure is quite labile [while diastolic is fairly stable at about 80mm/hg] and can vary between 200mm/hg [very rare] and 110mm/hg [a few hours after the atenalol], I only take the atenolol when it starts to rise some hours after taking the MPH. Of course I will be seeing my internist within a couple of months, but I am curious as to how wide a swing can be noticed [normally if one were to take one s pressure obsessively throughout the day.

Can Pristiq And Methylphenidate Cause Rise In The Blood Pressure?
Hi. I had gone through your query. I understand you have fluctuation in blood pressure and mostly it is essential or idiopathic in origin. Pristiq contains des velnafaxin. It doesn t lead to change in blood pressure. Methylphenidate does rise in blood pressure but not up to 200 mg hg. It is independent in origin and require treatment to regulate it properly. Do take opinion of physician and take his advise. Still have query then feel free to ask. Thank you.
