Can Promethazine Be Taken While On Prednisone And Aspirin?

My doctor prescribed promethazine Vic w codeine to take as needed. I am concerned that my other medications make interact Iam taking prednisone 7 day, mucinex dm, cirofloxacin along with my normal daily mess of aspirin,ziac,lisinpril, b12, Lipitor and advair inhalor. Will there be a problem taking this cough syrup? Mcmcguire@ Verizon.net. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Promethazine with codeine does not interact with the medications you are taking except for Mucinex DM. Mucinex DM contains Dextromethorphan which when taken with promethazine and codeine can increase drowsiness, sleepiness, and tiredness. Please avoid drinking and activities that require attention like driving, handling machinery etc while on this combination.
