Can Ranitidine And Tums Be Taken Together For Acid Reflux?

I just got a cold and I am also having stomach acidity (lots of salivation and gagging).

I started taking Ranitidine 150 mg about 3 days ago. I am also taking Tums (2/day) Is that ok?

My other regular prescriptions are:
Levothyroxin 088 mg
Escitalopram 10 mg
Estradiol 1 mg

I am a 52 year old female.

Tums contain calcium carbonate and it can be used. But you have more acidity According to history and so it's advisable to take strong antacid like Pantoprazole or Rabeprazole. Go to bed two hour after meal. High fatty foods should be restricted. Avoid excess spicy foods. Avoid excess coffee and chocolate.
