General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Regesterone (progesterone) is commonly used to delay periods. It's mostly a safe drug and does not cause any big issue, so you can use it. The dose is 5 mg three times a day, start 4 days before your expected period's date, and continue until you want your periods. Periods may occur within 3 days once you stop the drug.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
