Can Sennoside Be Used As A Laxative?

if my 38 year old son is on Latuda, is it ok for him to take a laxative such as equate regular strength chodolate laxative that contains sennosides, my husband bought some of that and also bought some magnesium citrate not sure if he can take either one since he is taking 120 mg of latuda daily.
