Can Streptoquin Be Taken If Allergic To Penicillin?

We are off to Egypt and I believe we can get streptoquin there for tummy upset. Are you able to take this medicine if you are allergic to penicillin. Ia there any other recommendations you could suggest to help avoid the tummy bug. Thank you Judithannryan@ me com

Hello,

Streptoquin isn't the same drug class with penicillin so there is no reason to be allergic from it. To reduce stomach bug I suggest you to eat crackers bananas, soups, steamy vegetables, drink fluids to stay hydrated and rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
