Can Sumatriptan Cause A Heart Attack?
I am 55, thin and healty, but just had a mild heart attack, most likely due to my migraine meds, Sumatriptan. My neurologist gave me something else called Midrin, which also works by constricting the vein somewhat. Would this not be the same effect as Sumatriptan or does this only effect the veins and vessels in the head?

dear healthcare magic user.you have suffered the most rare side effect of sumatriptan. but you have to rule out other factors too like high cholesterol levels,doesnt matter if you are lean,sugar levels,regular blood pressure monitorings.
on the next question,midrin is quite safe and doesnt act on blood vessels like sumatriptan. so rest assured you can go ahead with treatment.
