Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with chronic Epstein Barr in 2003 right before I got a multiple sclerosis diagnosis. I am now experiencing swollen lymph nodes, fatigue and general feeling of being unwell. I just had blood work done today to see if the Epstein Barr has been reactivated. My question is-I first noticed symptoms one month after starting Synthroid and I ve read several articles that stated that Synthroid can be responsible for the reactivation of Epstein Barr, do you think that could be a possibility?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Taimoor's Response
hi and welcome to HCM. I'm Dr. Taimur and I will be answering your health concerns. I have read your question and I understand your concern. Hypothyroidism and its treatment may lead to a partial immunocompromised like state as a result of which any infection can be reactivated like Tuberculosis, EBV etc. But the sin and symptoms you narrated can fit into other medical conditions like Lymphoma, Tuberculosis etc. my recommendation to you is to wait till the results of your labs show up, ad decide according to the results. Meanwhile you can use tab Panadol 2 tablets three times daily
I hope this might be of some help. If you have any query please feel free to ask any time. Thank you
