Can Tramadol Be Taken Along With Bupropion?

I just had major back surgery in July of this year and am still recovering and healing. Rods were put in my back and I had another surgery 3 days prior where they went in from my side to prepare my back for the second surgery. I have been on percocette and tylenol arthritis and am weaning off of percocette, but do not want to take vicodin as my surgeon first prescribed but I did not purchase. Now he is prescribing tramadol instead but it sounds dangerous to take percocette at a smaller dose while taking tramadol and also I take Bupropion (generic for wellbutrin and it mentions dangers taking tramadol with antidepressants. Can you give me your opinion please?

Hi.

I had gone through your query.

Tramadol is opioid derivatives and used as analgesic.

Bupropion is NDRI and it is antidepressant.

Though there are some drug interaction at Cytochrome enzyme while metabolism in liver but both can be taken for shorter period without ant adverse events.

Bupropion can be given for long term so you can take tramadol for shorter period till pain last but take according to your doctor advise.

So no need to worry.

You can take opinion of your doctor for better assistance.

I hope i have answered your query.

Feel free to ask.

Thank you.
