Can Wellbutrin Cause Memory Problems?

I have been on Wellbutrin 75 mgs BID since January with no real change in What I feel is depression, so my PCP increased the dosage to 100 BID, it seems since then I get the shakes, I can t remember things, I do work a very high stressful job. What do you think. Could this be a side affect. My main concern is my ability to remember the simple ist things. It is scaring me that I am developing early dementia of some kind. Any thoughts. I work in a Orthopaedic high volume practice as a surgical scheduler. Thank you Kathy

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Welbutrin will not cause memory problems. A detailed neurological evaluation, CT brain, thyroid function test and other blood investigations are needed to identify the cause for your memory loss. So, please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider.
