Can A Cortisone Injection Cause Hand Swelling In A Breast Cancer Survivor?

I know a breast cancer survivor who has had some problems with her rotater cuff. she had taken some pain pills that her Dr. prescribed, but did not help. She went back & he gave her a cortisone shot. Much to her surprise her hand has swelled up. She has been told that she could not have a steroid drug since having breast cancer, is that true? Did the cortisone shot be a result of her hand swelling or some other issue? could it be a result of her physical therapy she had 2 days prior for her shoulder, that caused her hand to swell?

Hello dear. I have gone through the details. Steroids are anti inflammatory in nature.so it is hard to believe cortisone as a cause of swelling. The patient needs to be investigated for some other reason. Yes it could bethe result of physical injury. thanks
