Can A Bad Hit In The Stomach Of A Child Cause Vomiting And Diarrhea?
Hi,
While playing with our dog my 2 1/2 year old daughter ran full force into my knee which hit her stomach very hard. She immediately looked like she was hurt and said her tummy hurt then vomited within the next couple of minutes. She has vomited several times today and has had diarrhea as well. She has also complained that her stomach hurts but has seemed much better since about 7pm(happened at 12pm) and hasn't vomited since then. She is now sleeping but I am worried there may be more going on than just an upset stomach. She doesn't appear to have a fever and there is no blood or bruising.

Vomiting is quite common after blunt abdominal trauma even in the absence of any internal injury.
As the vomiting has settled down, there is no external injury and she is sleeping well there appears to be no cause for concern.
