Can A Bruise Cause A Blood Clot?

Hi DOC....four days ago, I stubbed my left pinky toe on a 10lb iron weight...it is swollen but it only hurts on the top of it...I can even bend it.,,but my entire leg (especially around my shin} and my knee has severe pain. Even when I bend my knee that hurts. I m 60 years old and have osteoporosis. Can this type injury cause a blood clot? I m keeping it elevated and taking ibuprofen and even something stronger now because I am not getting ANY relief. Do you think a ER visit is necessary?

if the trauma that caused the bruise injury a large and deep seated veins'a wall ,
so , it could make conditions right for a deep vein clot to form.
my advises r
rest
ice application over the bruised area
elevation at heart level.
if not resolved the bruised so must be consult emergency doctors.
