Can A Low Hemoglobin Count Cause Spotting Instead Of Normal Bleeding?

Hello to all, I am 25 and have been recently diagnosed with low haemoglobin count i.e. 8.. Bleeding on the first day of period was normal and then, there was only a dot on the rest of the days. Is my low HB the reason behind this ? Thanks in advance for your reply..

Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

It may not be related to bleeding and may be due to nutritional causes like iron deficiency. Do a peripheral smear examination and serum ferritin to confirm whether it is nutritional or bone marrow related.
Include more iron rich foods in your diet as green leafy vegetables.
You can take iron tablets once a day basis for normalizing iron status.

Hope I have answered your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
