Can A Painful Knee After Any Physical Strain Be A Sign Of Arthritis? Will Wearing A Knee Brace Help?
I have pain on the inside of my right knee. It hurts most after laying in bed or sitting. I have tried ice a knee brace and rest. I have also tried walking and although it hurt was no worse after a 3 mile walk. Could this be arthritis as I have it in other parts of my body and it runs in my family. I am from out of town and am reluctant to go to a doctor unless you feel it is necessary as I am afraid they will just send me for an exray or MRI to be told tthere is nothing else I can do. Do you have any other suggestions thanks Also I have a tight IT band on my left thigh that burns and is numb. Ice perhaps?? or heat???

Hi It can be due to meniscal tear inside or can be any of the ligament injury.Better you should have an examination with an orthopedician. If it is meniscal tear, and small it might be ok with elastic bandaging. But if its severe then need a arthroscopic removal.MRI may be needed, but that one can be decided after physical examination of knee.Ice application and elastic bandaging is good.Hope this may help you thanks
