Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Not all patients Develope pneumonia after a rib fracture. Normally rib fracture heals in six weeks. But some time during any movement after injury or some time at the time of injury injury to lungs can cause pneumonia. So there is such possibility. I would suggest you to start antibiotics and pain killers. Also avoid cough and sneezing.
