Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

People with epilepsy can get pregnant and have children, just like people without epilepsy.
For epilepsy, there are several safe medications. Avoid sodium valproate.
Use folic acid supplementation.
Please consult your neurologist to choose the best drug for epilepsy.

If you are having any problems in conceiving, please see an infertility specialist.

Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
