Can A Polyp In Ascending Colon Be Removed Through Endoscopy?

Was just diagnosed with a 2cm advanced ademona in ascending colon. No cancer cells found.Gastroenterologist said he would try to remove through endoscopy.I should say also that it is a flat polyp. He also stated that if he could not remove, that I would need a section of my colon removed.Isn t that a little drastic ? Note: My mother is scheduled for colon re -section in two days. Her polyp is also in the ascending colon. It is also cancerous.I am due to go back within a fews weeks for an endoscopy. My question is,do you think he can remove the polyp that I have through endoscopy? Thank you !

Usually polyps are hereditary and your mother having cancerous so more chances it will also become cancerous later on. Most of the polyps of colon can be removed by colonoscopy but when it is outward growth means extra intestinal growth s laparoscopy surgery is needed. Colon resection anastomosis is needed
