Can A Scalp Infection Spread To The Vaginal Area ?
Hi, I have been having this itch for some time I know its not caused from my sanitary napkins, sex, detergent or body wash. It maybe started about 1yr close to 2 yrs now. The skin around the outer vagina right up to my butt keeps coming off especially at night to the point where i can t sleep. It doesn t smell and I dont get any kind of nasty discolored discharge. It will only hurt if I do itch it for some kind of relief and take a shower but I figured that only happens because the skin is raw after the scratching. My cousin had some kind of fungal infection in her hair which I picked up after she used my hair brush . After that I got it and only after did I begin to get the Itch down there. Is it possible that a scalp infection could spread to other parts of the body just like that and cause this kind of disturbance. I had been taking treatment for the scalp infection (Ketoconozole) the shampoo , ointment and Pill. and so far have gotten some relief but it still keeps coming back what can I do I feel like I m running out of options.? Really Disturbed...

Yes you can get such an infection from your scalp. You can try using the ketokonazole cream down there also. For itching, use an antiseptic cream instead of doing itching. Such infections are usually recurrent in nature and need recurrent treatment.
