Can Abrupt Stopping Of Fentanyl Patch Lead To Withdrawal Symptoms?

i just came home from the hospital last night late and have been on 50mcg/hr of fentanyl patch (duragesic) every 3 days (for pain). I am due this morning for another patch but we can t get my approval for this drug until Monday. What other drugs would be comparable for me to replace this with until my Insurance Company approves AND will I go through withdrawals from abruptly stopping this after taking it consistently for the past 3.5 months?
