Can Accidental Fall Cause, Bilateral Foraminal Stenosis?

I fell on a concert floor in 2012. I have been having lower back, knees, and arms problem. Sometimes while lying in bed the whole left side of my body aches and makes it uncomfortable to move. I recently found out that I have a synovial cyst in the left facet joint. The MRI said, that I have multilevel degenerative facet joint disease. small circumferential bulging disc at L4-L5 with mild to moderate bilateral foraminal stenosis and mild central canal stenosis. Mild to moderate bilateral foraminal stenosis. My question is did the fall cause this?

Thanks for putting your Query. As u have mentioned it is usually seems to be more on degenerative side than traumatic side. Fall can cause initiation of instability at facet joint which is being tried to be stabilised by body by various means . but due to instability hypertrophy occurs near facet joints which prepentually leads to stenosis. Have proper medication ,rest, physiotherapy. Avoid forward bending and heavy weight lifting. HOpe to see you well soon . Contact again for further Query. take care . God bless you
