My his ears pain (say about once in 2-3 months) we find it difficult to take it. The pain goes away in some time with the help of pain killer and warming back of ear.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Adenoids are lymph tissue which help children fight infection. They grow big when they are swollen-Infection can cause swelling of adenoids leading to various symptoms like repeated sinus ,cold, ear infection, breathing mouth. These conditions can be treated well by giving medicines( antibiotics/ anti inflammatory drugs).& the swollen adenoid shrink after child grows. But when such infections are repeated & severe/persistant- may affect child's health/ growth. In such case they need to be removed surgically. Thanks.
