Can Alcohol Consumption Cause Diarrhea And Bloody Stools?

Hi, I was wondering if alcohol consumption could be related to diarrhea and bloody stools. My boyfriends brother drinks a lot so I figured this could be the cause. I know alcohol abuse can cause diarrhea, but I was wondering what the bloody stools were about. thanks.

alcohol is a solvent. As such it can directly irritate the digestive lining. Furthermore it stimulates the gut. so..... quite possible for it to be connected to those sort of issues.
