Can Antibiotics Be Given To A Baby?

My 5 months breastfeed baby girl hassmall tumor in her ears with cold and little cough .when took to ent doc he has prescribed cefixime dry syrub 2.5 ml 2 times a day. Is it fine to give antobiotic to my 5 months old just worried bcoz my pediatician told me to avoid antibiotics till 6 months.
