I don t think I had infections at all. The swelling and redness, pain was relieved. I took AMOXILIN for two days and I have diarrhea. Is it ok to stop taking AMOXILIN after two de enough ays because I don t think I can finish the whole bottle (20 pills) with the diarrhea symptom. Please advise...I really appreciate...

Hello,

In fact, antibiotics must be completed their full course as prescribed, or else resistance develops and the next time same antibiotic may become useless. But in your case, as you have developed adverse effect of Amoxicillin, you have no other choice than to stop the antibiotic.

If your rash due to insect bite reappears, you can use the following:
1) Tab. Cefpodoxime Proxetil for 5 days.
2) Calamine lotion can be applied on the rash area to relieve burning and itching sensations. So, you can stop Amoxicillin now.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
