Can Bananas Cause Severe Vomiting In Infants Started On Solid Food?
6 month old daughter has projectile vomitted 3 times today. No fever, diarrhea, or any other symptoms to indicate illness. I have a suspicion that it could be related to bananas. SHe ate a small amount yesterday morning and this morning as well. We started her with rice cereal, then went to wheat cereal. THen oatmeal. Then started peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, and carrots. No problems with any of these foods. She has been gaining weight at what seems a normal rate. She was 16 lbs. at her last check up 2 months ago. Any ideas?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
I assure you that a 6 month old with 16lbs is doing very well. This vomiting might not be related to banana as it is extremely rare. The only way to find this out is to stop all banana related products for a month and again introduce banana once again and if again vomiting comes, it will be confirmatory.
