Can Birth Control Pills Be Started Before The Menstrual Cycle?

I ve been on Birth Control for about 4 years now but over Christmas I didn t get around to refilling my prescription so I just stayed off of them until my next expected period but I still haven t had it. I ve tested at home for pregnancy twice & several weeks apart but both negative. Can I just start taking the pills again to put my body back into my regular routine? I do intend to go back on them as soon as it s safe to do so.

Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
Pregnancy test used to be positive in urine after 10 days and in blood after 8 days of fertilization.
There is no harm in starting pills once you declared to be negative for pregnancy either through blood test or urine test.
All that you have to do is continue your pills until you missed three in a row.
Hope it helps best.
