Can Burning/ Itching In The Limbs, Back, Face & Scalp Be Related To Thyroid Removal In A Hypo Thyroid Person?

I am experiencing burning and itching in my lower arms and hands and lower legs and feet. I sometimes experience the burning in my back and itching on my face and scalp. I just had my thyroid removed in September and symptoms became noticeable in November. I am hypo thyroid NOT hyper thyroid. Can these symptoms be thyroid related?

Hi there, these symptoms does not have direct relation with thyroid problems but since you have mentioned recent thyroid surgery , I would prefer to test for serum calcium for my patients to check for low calcium ( may happen after surgery of thyroid ) and if it is normal then I would search for other causes.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health
