Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Caffeine Intake Induce Panic Attacks With Heart Palpitation, Nausea And Stomach Discomfort?
I am experiencing what I think are caffeine induced panic attacks. Symptoms include heart palpitations, nausea, tingling in upper body, feeling faint and stomach/bowel discomfort. Even a small amount of caffeine will induce some symtpoms. I've stopped consuming caffeine, but now am nauseous first thing in the morning with bowel discomfort. Could this be linked to menopause? If been without a period for almost two years. Thanks. Lisa
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, what the symptoms you have are not due to caffeine neither it is due to hormone changes but it seems to be some functional kind of disorders, obsession, depression, anxiety could be the condition playing the role her. Try to come out the stress, be positive and practical, if the symptoms that you have need to be rule out for some disease then you will have to go for some routine tests, like EKG, x-ray chest and blood test. hope this information helps.
