Can Co-irbewin 300/12.5 Be The Cause For Severe Cough?
I have been on co-irbewin 300/12.5 for some years, ( i aslo take other medication) but have a cough that starts off as a tickel in my throat then I cough, eyes fill up, nose fills up, and more often than not end up vomitting. My chest when lying down weezes & rattles and I do not get much sleep. Would this cough be related to taking co-irbewin? (I have had my mitral valve replaced, and take warfarin.)
Hi, Welcome to HCM, Co-Irbewin can cause irritating cough, and it may starts after some years of taking the medication without any side effects. But as you have history of Mitral valve replacement, it is also important to rule out Pulmonary edema. You have not specified what other medications you are taking. To find the cause, it is better you consult your doctor. Your Doctor would be able to diagnose the cause of your problems by examining you clinically, doing some investigations and monitoring. if it is due to Irbewin ( Irbesartan), he or she will replace this medicine with another group of anti hypertensive medicines, and you will notice the significant difference within few days. Hope you got your answer. Wish you good health. Dr H Hamdani
