Can Daily Diarrhea Affect The Foetal Health In A 17 Wks Pregnant Woman And What Should Be Done In Absence Of Medical Care?

Hi, im 17 weeks pregnant & have had diarrhea once daily for a few days but I have had it twice already today. Spent the entire morning trying to get in touch with a midwife with no luck. Cant get an appointment with my GP for a while & have no idea what to do. Im worried about my baby & getting distressed about the lack of medical care & support im getting

Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
you mentioned diarrhoea once a day. If you have loose watery stools more than 4-5 Times a day then you might get dehydration.
Some times loose stools are because of iron supplements.
I would recommend plenty or oral fluids, clear soups, and stop any iron, multi vitamins for now.
if you have fever then consult your doctor for antibiotics.
There is no significant effect on baby if you are well hydrated.
