Can Exzilor Be Given For Depression And Does It Affects Kidney Function?
my mother is a chronic renal failure and ishchemic heart disease patient. She has bulky and polycystic kidneys. her age is of 63 years with hypertension, gout and hypothyroidism. mentally depressed. can i give her exzilor to come out from depression? will it effect on kidney function? her creatine is 3.8 and urea is 75.
hi, Any antidepressant should be cautiously used in patients with severe kidney disease, as limited excretion can result in relative over dosage. This ends up with side effects like sedation, dry mouth and seizure potential. Exzilor is no exemption to this fact. Assuming her weight to be 50 kg, her eGFR is very low and indicate severe kidney disease. I would recommend her to be taken to a psychiatrist for selecting a drug which is much safer to use in kidney disease. Hope this helped.
