Can Flu Medication With Catalopram Cause Any Problem?

I ve been talking catalopram for 3 days now since being diagnosed with anxiety anthough I really don t think it ism but as its an ssri is it ok to take onE cold and flu capsule, I ve been told one won t do any harm is this true. I take degcongestAnt because I get a stuffy nosee and. When this happens I feel tho I can t breathe and then well, I panic so can I or not? Plesse help

Hi,

I’m quite sure you mean Citalopram. Unfortunately, you do not mention which cold medicine you mean, because there are many. Since SSRIs may cause anti-coagulation effects you better take a cold medication with Acetaminophen instead of Ibuprofen or Naproxen. However, do not take too much. Definitely not more than it is stated on the package and not longer than five days.
