Can Gastritis Be The Cause Of Constipation?

Hi m mr patil. I have problem of constipation. I don t get clear motions most frequently. It takes always 15-20 mins to wait for smooth motions. I feel heviness in stomach and it feel like stucking up inside and not coming out smoothly. I recently did endoscopy and found gastritis problem. Medicines for the same have alrday been taken by me for last 3 weeks. I feel good when i m taking those medicines. But, as the course has completed i have stopped taking those medicines and now again the problem of motions has started. Kindly guide....

Hi and welcome to HCM.

Yes, gastritis may have effect on whole difestive system and may cause bloating constipation but also diarrheas as well. Of, course there may be 2 concomittant diseases of colon and stomach so you should do colonoscopy if your symptoms persist. You should have easier diet , probiotics and high fibre food to prevent hard stool formation.
