Can Gederal 20/150 Cause Side Effects Like Depression, tender, Swollen Breast And Weight Gain?

I had my mirena taken out due to migraines and was put on gederal 20/150. I have taken 5 cycles and the last month especially have experienced tender, swollen breasts and convinced myself I have found a lump the week before my period. I ve also been feeling very low (have history of depression) and have gained about half a stone which I can t lose. Are these likely to be side effects of gederal? Thanks in advance

Hi,

Gedarel is a combined oral contraceptive pill, containing both estrogen and progesterone analogues. The usual side effects are a change in sex drive, breast tenderness, bleeding in between periods, headaches, nausea, fluid retention, vomiting, anxiety or depression. It is quite likely that your present problems are due to Gedarel. If you are finding it difficult to continue Gedarel in view of these side effects, please discuss with your doctor regarding what alternatives would suit you.

Best wishes.
