Can General Anesthesia Cause Puffy Eyes And Swollen Membrane Around It?

i had general anesthetic yesterday for a fibroid removal procedure and have only one side effect - very puffy upper eyes and swollen membranes covering the eye, no redness, no vision problems and no pain, just irritation. Should I be worried? I m 49 and in very good health.

Hi,

It is possible for general anesthesia to cause puffy eyes and swollen membranes around the eyes as a side effect, it is not very common.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
