Can Grape Fruit Be Taken While On Uceris?

Yes, I forgot I am not supposed to have grapefruit while I am on Uceris. I just had a fruit cup which contained grapefruit. I placed a call to the pharmacist who advised I call my doctor. I have not heard back yet. Are there things I should do to neutralize the impact of the grapefruit? What can I expect to happen? \

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Grapefruit can rise the concentration of uceris in blood.
Some of the symptoms of uceris overdose are:
-thinning of the skin, easy bruising;
-headache;
-runny or stuffy nose, cough, sore throat;
-muscle pain;
-mild nausea, stomach pain, indigestion;
-mild skin rash
If you have any of these symptoms go to the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
