Can Hcg Drops Cause Positive Pregnancy Result?

i have been taking the oral hcg drops for a week and a half now. i starting feeling sick on the weekend and took a pregnancy test yesterday which showed positive. i decided to stop taking the hcg yesterday evening and i don't really feel sick today. Could the hcg drops cause a positive pregnancy test result?
