Can Headaches And Nosebleeds In Child Be Due To Sinuses?

Hello...I have three boys and my middle son is the only one who gets headaches and nosebleeds. He hasn't had them in a while but he had a headache earlier around 6:30 and when we came home he has a slight nosebleed. Is it related? Does it jave anything to do with his sinuses because he has really bad breath until we flush him out with saline.

Thank you

Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Nose bleed happens whenever there is any forceful blow due to sneexing or increase vascularity or blood flow in the Nose. In your son's case, Sinusitis itself can cause increase blood circulation to nasal mucosa. Headache could be due to Sinusitis. In nasal mucosa, there is a bunch of small capillaries, and these capillaries have very thin wall. These capillaries, together have an opening in nasal mucosa of Nose.
To prevent bleeding from Nose, and sinusitis he must do steam inhalation everyday as a routine, may use Phenylepherine nasal drops to constrict the capillaries. Give him Vit D tablets once in a day for 3 months to prevent sinusitis recurrently.
