Can Heavy Alcoholic Consumption Be A Cause For Stomach Upset?

Hi, I was just wondering whether alcohol can cause green, liquid-like faeces. I went out last night and consumed a large amount of alcohol, I now have a very uncomfortable stomach ache and a green, liquid diarrhoea! I'm in a state of panic, just wondered whether the alcohol could have caused it.

Thankyou!

Hello
Let me explain the pharmacological action of heavy consumption of ALCOHOL:
Higher concentration ( above 20 % in large quantity ) inhibits gastric secretion, cause VOMITING , MUCOSAL CONGESTION & GASTRITIS . Acute ingestion alcohol also causes acute gastritis.
Lower esophageal sphincter tone is reduced by alcohol -may accentuate reflex.
Bowel movements may be altered in either direction constipation or diarrhea.
In your case greenish diarrhea is due to heavy ingestion of alcohol.
Consult a primary care physician .
Good luck.
