Can Herniated Disk Cause Cramps From Hip To Foot At Night?

Every night during after a few hours of sleep, I need to jump from bed with unusual foot cramps. These are not normal muscle cramps because I get those all the time, sometimes at the same time as these foot cramps. These make my feet turn inward and they are locked in that position for 15 to 30 seconds and then it releases and I have to move my foot and I hear a snapping sound. Can it be coming from my back since I have a herniated disk. Often the pain is from my hip to my foot.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I think you are having muscle cramps in foot. In my opinion these pains are likely to be due to vitamins and trace element deficiency specially that of vitamin D. These are unlikely to be due to herniated disc. I will suggest you to got following test to see cause .1.Serum Vitamin D 2.Serum Vitamin B12 3.Blood sugar fasting and PP. Furthermore I empirically treat my such patients by:-1.EVION LC 2.VITAMINE D3(if it is low) 3.VITAMIN B COMPLEX AND VITAMIN C 4.CALCIUM 5.Mecobalmine 6.ANALGESICS such as ibuprofen to relieve pain. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Wishing you good health. Take care.
