Can High Dose Of Foracart 200mg Be The Reason For Irregular Periods ?
Hi I have Allergic Asthma diagnosed last year. Previously I was diagnosed Bronchitis and I have this problem since 13 years. While I was diagnosed Allergic Asthma I was prescribed foracort 200mg inhaler..Last year I got Foracort 400mg, so I took it for almost 3 months every alternate day..But after that I switched back to 200mg.. But during that time I got irregular periods (continously for 25 days)..Is it possible that higher dose might be the cause of this problem?

Furacort is a steriod but in your case its given to you in form of aerosol as inhalers , hence they are absorbed direcly by the alveoli, and does not reaches the circulation, there fore inhalers are very safe and are associated with minimum systemic side effects.
Your irregular periods are most likely not attributed to inhalers , a complete gynecological checkup is adviced
foracort is very safe drug and is administered for long time without any significant systemic side effect
